New Synthetic Drugs: Real Damage

Crime Stoppers knew that once synthetic ‘party’ drugs had become outlawed in Queensland, getting people to report illicit trade would be difficult. JuniorCru’s idea was to ‘interrupt’ people who had flocked online in light of the government’s crackdown, even convincing Google to let an agency buy drug names as search terms for the first time ever in Australia.
Results were immediate. Over 60,000 visits to the campaign site resulted in over 50 reports of illicit trade and Crime Stoppers Queensland acknowledged the campaign as having contributed directly to a 34% increase in drug related charges.
